Front, Side and Door Transparencies

Split glazing is indispensable in some aviation areas. The glazing for the helicopter EC135 consists of a canopy split in right and left front screens and lower windows, wing and sliding door windows and side windows. Each of these parts has high manufacturing requirements. The canopy size is about 2 m2 and requires experienced staff to become a product of high optical quality. Three dimensional transparencies of a similar size tend to produce distortion, which needs to be avoided.

Sliding door windows are delivered with sliding windows that were especially developed for this helicopter. The frames for these windows are opaque and are manufactured in the business fields for deep-drawing and NC finishing. Precise fitting of serial parts allows for a lean integration in the manufacturing process of our customers.

Serie und Protoyp

In the aviation sector we apply mainly high-quality Plexiglas®, which provides the best optical properties. Moreover this material provides UV protection and easy to maintain. Further properties, such as abrasion resistance, can be added to protect the transparencies of scratches.
