Josef Weiss Plastic s.r.o. in Kunovice, CZ

In April 2007 Josef Weiss Plastic has opened its new production facility in the Czech Republic. The subsidiary is specialized in the manufacturing of airplane glazings as standard equipment as well as spare parts.

Josef Weiss Plastic sponsers world record attempt

A Josef Weiss Plastic windshield made its way to the North Cape. This windshield is a special production for the quad that Gerry Mayer from Germany used for his world-record attempt. The production experts explain: “The windshield was manufactured manually on a specific mold. The material we used is an impact-modified acrylic, in 5 mm. In our series production of windshields for renowned motorcycle brands, this highly break resistant Plexiglas® version has proved extraordinary advantages.”

The world-record trip started on December, 28th 2002 in Constance, Lake Constance, in the south of Germany. Gerry Mayr was back in Friedrichshafen on January, 26th 2003. For Gerry Mayr this trip held temperatures of -40°C, bad road conditions and a diversity of impressions from foreign cultures and civilizations. Even more colours for plastic!

Dying of acrylic glass, polycarbonate, PVC, SAN, ABS etc. is possible.
The technique: the clear material is dipped into preheated basins. The dye intrudes into the plastic surface and creates an even tint. Suitable for the dying process are sheets of up to 2000 x 1000 mm, cast and extruded tubes and profiles of up to 4000 mm length, Injection moulded parts, final products such as laser cut screens, milled parts or entire displays. Both individual parts and big series can be processed.

Our service: You send us your products and tell us the required colour. We send you a colour sample. Once you give your approval, production starts. Delivery is possible within a few days.

PLEXIGLAS SATINICE® - new colour and thickness

PLEXIGLAS SATINICE®, a range of high quality sheets with satin surface offering special optics and haptics. PLEXIGLAS SATINICE® is available with one matt surface (SC), two matt surfaces (DC), reflection reduced surface (AR) and with evenly distributed diffuser bleads in thicknesses between 1.5 mm and 40 mm.

The outstanding features of these sheets are their good light diffusion and high degree of light transmission. The sheets are mainly recommended for decorative glazing applications which require a pleasant and even distribution of the light. Shelf boards and racks get a a noble and high quality touch by the special optical effect of the edges.

The product range of sheets with two matt surfaces (DC) has now been greatly improved:

• The standard range of colours has been increased by 10 colours giving a total of 20 available colours.
• All standard colours are on the supplier’s stock in thicknesses between 4 mm and 6 mm. Crystal, Ice Green and Snow are also on stock in thicknesses between 3 mm and 20 mm.
• PLEXIGLAS SATINICE® DC can be manufactured on request in thicknesses between 2.5 mm and 40 mm and dimensions of up to 4000 mm x 2000 mm.
• All other colours available on the market or that you require are available as PLEXIGLAS SATINICE® DC types.
• The minimum order quantity of existing colours, including customized colours has been reduced to 15 sheets per colour and thickness.
• The first time a colour is reproduced, the minimum order quantity is approx. 2000 kg.
